Google Apps is now G Suite. Same service, new name. More about the name change.

Approve mobile devices for management

The Approve operation applies only to personal devices. Company-owned devices are automatically approved.

As a G Suite administrator, you can approve devices to activate them for mobile management. If you change your mind about approval at this time, you can alternatively block the device.

Device approval is optional. Normally, devices activate for management automatically when users complete the device management setup steps on the device. With an approval phase, the devices activate only after you specify approval.

You can begin to issue device approvals any time after you set up mobile devices for management while choosing the setting that requires administrator approval for device activation.

If you have specified an email address to receive notifications for new device activations, you'll receive an email shortly after the device registers, with details of the device to be activated.

In some cases, you might receive duplicate email notifications of a pending device activation. However, you only need to approve the device once.
