Add Google Workspace Marketplace apps to your allowlist

You can choose which third-party apps users can install from the Google Workspace Marketplace. The default setting is to allow users to install any app available in the Google Workspace Marketplace.

To allow users to download some third-party apps but not others, you can add specific apps to your allowlist. Your users can then install only the apps you've added to this list.

Hide or show Google Workspace Marketplace apps to your users

Note: Adding apps to the allowlist doesn’t affect apps that are already installed, it only blocks new installs.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps.
  3. On the Google Workspace Marketplace apps card, click Manage.
  4. Under Manage access to apps, select an option:
    • Allow users to install any application from Google Workspace Marketplace—Allows users to install any app
    • Do not allow users to install any application from Google Workspace Marketplace—Blocks users from installing any app
    • Allow users to install only allowed applications from Google Workspace Marketplace—Users can only install apps from your allowlist.
Note: If you choose to allow apps, learn how to add apps to the allowlist below.
  5. Click Save.

Note: Changes may take up to 24 hours to propagate to all users.

Add apps to the allowlist

The list of apps you can add to your allowlist will not match the list of all available apps in Google Workspace Marketplace. It only shows apps that are available to non-admin users. If there's an app you'd like to be available to non-admins, contact the app developer about enabling individual install for the app.
