Whitelist G Suite Marketplace apps

You can choose which third-party apps users can install from the G Suite Marketplace. The default setting is to allow users to install any app available in the G Suite Marketplace.

To allow users to download some third-party apps but not others, you can add specific apps to a whitelist. Your users can then install only the apps you've whitelisted.

Hide or show G Suite Marketplace apps to your users

Note: Whitelisting doesn’t affect apps that are already installed, it only blocks new installs.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps.
  3. On the G Suite Marketplace apps card, click Manage.
  4. Under Manage access to apps, select an option:
    • Allow visibility of all apps in G Suite Marketplace—Allows users to install any app
    • Block visibility of all apps in G Suite Marketplace—Blocks users from installing any app
    • Allow users to install only whitelisted applications from G Suite Marketplace—Users can install only whitelisted apps
Note: If you choose to whitelist apps, learn how to add apps to the whitelist below.
  5. Click Save.

Add apps to the whitelist

The list of apps available for whitelisting will not match the list of all available apps in G Suite Marketplace. It only shows apps that are available to non-admin users. If there's an app you'd like to be available to non-admins, contact the app developer about enabling individual install for the app.
