Choose a language for a group

This feature requires turning on Google Groups for Business.

If you're a group owner or manager, you can set the language for a specific group. This setting changes the language in which automated email messages appear in Google Groups for Business. For example, if you add a member to a group, the notification message that the member receives is in the language you set for the group. Other types of messages that appear in this language include group digest and summary messages, message moderation approvals, and undeliverable-message notifications.

To set the language for a group you own or manage:

  1. In My Groups or your Groups directory, open the group's page.
  2. Click Settings in the top corner, and select Group settings.
  3. Choose a language from the Group's primary language drop-down list.
