After you add Gemini to your Google Workspace account, you must assign Gemini licenses to users.

I don't have a supported edition

Customers with other Google Workspace editions can switch to a supported edition listed above, and then order the add-on. Go to Switch Google Workspace editions.

If you don't have Google Workspace, start a free Google Workspace trial with a supported edition. Then order the add-on.
