The Flexible Plan might be best if you have a variable workforce. With the Flexible Plan, you’re billed monthly for the number of user accounts you have that month. In U.S. dollars, the standard billing rates are:
- $8.40 USD per user for Business Starter
- $16.80 USD per user for Business Standard
- $26.40 USD per user for Business Plus
- $8.40 USD per user for Cloud Identity Premium
Updated pricing for the Flexible Plan began in April 2023 for subscriptions with more than 10 user licenses. Starting in February 2024, the new pricing will apply to existing subscriptions with 1–10 user licenses.
Flexible Plan user accounts
- You’re billed monthly for each user account.
- You can add or remove user accounts at any time. If your account is less than 90 days old, go to Add users to a new account (later on this page) for more information about adding user accounts.
- You pay only for the accounts that you have during a month.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time without penalty.
For example, a vacation resort might add temporary workers during the summer. The Flexible Plan lets those companies provide their temporary workers with Google Workspace or Cloud Identity Premium and only pay for the service while it's used. User accounts can be deleted when workers leave at the end of the summer.
How payments are calculated
You’re billed for the service that you use per month at the beginning of the following month. For example, if you purchase the Flexible Plan for Business Starter with 7 user accounts in U.S. dollars, you’re billed $58.80 USD at standard pricing (7 users X $8.40 USD per user) at the beginning of the following month. If you keep using 7 accounts, you continue to be billed $58.80 USD each subsequent month, until you change your subscription.
If you add or remove users during any month, we prorate your payments. For example, if you add a user on April 1 and delete them on April 15, we charge you for only half a month of service for that user.
You can pay ahead for your subscription instead of making monthly payments by adding credit to your account. For details, go to Make a manual payment or pay early.
Add users to a new account
Within 90 days of signing up on the Flexible Plan, you’re limited to 20-50 users. To add more users during this time, you must make a manual payment for 50% of the total users you want (not the number you’re adding). This payment appears as a credit on your account to be applied toward future invoices.
For example, if you have 50 users and want 30 more, you must make a manual payment for 40 users, that is, 50% of the 80 total users. For steps, go to Make a payment.
Cancel your service
With the Flexible Plan, you can cancel your subscription whenever you want and you only pay for the service that you already used.
