How to override a Search Ads 360 bid strategy's bid or budget

You can use any of the following methods to override the max. CPC for a biddable item

  • Edit the max. CPC for multiple items
  • Apply a rule to edit the max. CPC (and set schedule)

Overrides to the max. CPC can only be done in the Search Ads 360 user interface. You can't override the max. CPC set by a bid strategy in the user interface of an advertising platform.

Edit the maximum CPC for one or more items

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a client account.
  3. Click on Campaigns, Ad groups, Keywords or Product groups in the page menu on the left.
  4. Select the checkboxes next to each item that you want to edit.
  5. In the toolbar above the statistics table, click Edit, and then click Change bids.
  6. Under “Change max. CPC bids”, you can select “Set new bids”, “Increase bids” or “Decrease bids”.
  7. Enter an amount, a percentage, or select an amount or percentage from a custom column.
  8. Click Apply.

In Google Ads campaigns, you also have the option to raise your bid to place your ads on the first page or at the top of the page in the search results.

The bid strategy or budget bid strategy won’t change a max. CPC for the selected item for 24 hours.

Apply a rule to change the maximum CPC or campaign budget

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a client account.
  3. In the page menu, do one of the following:
    • Click Campaign (The Budget column is included in the Campaigns table by default.)
    • Click Product groups
    • Click Keywords
  4. (Optional for keywords and product groups) Add the max. CPC column to the statistics table.
  5. Select the checkboxes next to each item that you want to edit.
  6. In the toolbar above the statistics table, click Edit , and then click Create an automated rule. Learn more about how to create an automated rule.
  7. Enter a name that is meaningful to you.
  8. Select an owner account.
  9. Select the action that you want to occur.
    • Enter a name for the action, and then click Save.
    • Under “Apply to”, click Selected keywords, Selected campaigns or Selected product groups, as applicable.
    • Under “Conditions”, add the conditions to apply the rule.
    • Under “Action”, click Change keyword bids, Change budgets or Change product group max. CPC bids, depending on the selection done in Step 3.
    • Set the bid or budget amount.
    • In the Frequency section, choose when the rule should apply.
      • We suggest setting up the frequency to “Once”.
    • (Optional) Enter one or more email addresses to receive the rules report.
  10. Click Save rule.

The bid strategy or budget bid strategy won’t change a max. CPC or campaign budget for the selected item for 24 hours.

Override the campaign budget set by a budget bid strategy

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. In the page menu, click Campaigns.
  3. Optional: Add the Bid strategy column to the statistics table.
  4. In the “Budget” column, click the pencil icon Edit to edit a campaign’s daily budget.
  5. Enter an amount.
  6. Click Save.

The budget bid strategy won’t change the daily campaign budget for 24 hours. You can also edit the amount for your campaign’s daily budget through “Shared library” page:

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. Navigate to a client account.
  3. Go to the tools and settings icon , and under “Shared library” click Shared budgets.
  4. In an existing shared budget under the “Daily budget” column, click the pencil icon Edit that appears when you hover over the amount.
  5. Edit the amount.
  6. Click Save.

Edit the campaign budget for multiple items

  1. Sign in to your new Search Ads 360.
  2. In the page menu, click Campaigns.
  3. Optional: Add the Bid strategy column to the statistics table to verify which budget bid strategy you want to override.
  4. Select the checkboxes next to each item that you want to edit.
  5. In the toolbar above the statistics table, click Edit, and then click Change budgets.
  6. In the Change budget window, you can select any of the following:
    • Set new budget
    • Increase budget
    • Decrease budget
  7. Choose a currency and enter an amount or select an amount from a custom column.
  8. Click Apply.

The budget bid strategy won’t change the selected campaign budgets for 24 hours.
