Show your calendar status in Gmail

If you use Gmail for work or school and create an "Out of office" event, anyone who emails you will get your out-of-office status.

Gmail gets your calendar status when you create an "Out of office" event.

The “Out of office” event must span the entire day or extend past your regular working hours. Learn how to set your working hours and availability.

Important: The sender must have permission to view your calendar or they won’t get your out-of-office status. To make sure others have access permission, you must share your calendar.
