Use At a Glance on your Android device

Find what you need right away with At a Glance. On the home or lock screen of your device, you can find info and updates like future events, tasks, and weather.

Add & remove the At a Glance widget

On most Android devices, you can add At a Glance to your home screen.

Important: To learn how to manage widgets on your device, check with your device manufacturer.

To add At a Glance:

  1. On your home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap Widgets .
  3. Scroll to “Google.”
  4. Touch and hold At a Glance.
  5. Drag the widget to where you want to place it.

To remove At a Glance:

  1. Touch and hold At a Glance.
  2. Drag the widget up to Remove .

Tips:

Turn At a Glance features on or off

Important: The full At a Glance experience is available on Pixel devices with Android version 12 and up. Some features aren’t available in all languages, countries or regions.

To turn features and content on or off:

  1. At the top of your home screen, touch and hold At a Glance.
  2. Tap Customize and then At a Glance Settings .
  3. Under "Features," select the category or topic you want to turn on or off.
  4. Turn the category or topic on or off.
  5. For more topics or categories, at the bottom, tap See more features.

Manage At a Glance info

By default, At a Glance automatically shows content on your lock screen. This content can be from important app notifications like calendar events or updates.

You can turn off sensitive content and manage the other updates you get on your lock screen. Learn how to control your notifications.

To update the sensitive content setting:

  1. At the top of your home screen, touch and hold At a Glance.
  2. Tap Customize and then At a Glance Settings .
  3. Under “Manage Personalization,” tap Sensitive content on lockscreen.
  4. Under "Privacy," turn Sensitive notifications on or off.

Tip: You can turn off sensitive work profile notifications for At a Glance content from your work profile.

About your At a Glance info

To provide info that's relevant to you, Google uses data from your device and activity. 

To control what data At a Glance uses to provide personalized info:

  1. At the top of your home screen, touch and hold At a Glance.
  2. Tap Customize and then At a Glance Settings .
  3. Under “Manage Personalization,” turn Settings on or off.

Manage data from apps

For info like updates to Calendar events, At a Glance uses data from apps on your device.

Data from your Google Account

For most At a Glance features, make sure your device has access to your Google activity.

Web & App Activity

Your Web & App Activity setting helps At a Glance provide info about tasks, like when it’s time to leave for an appointment. Learn how to manage your Web & App Activity.

App info

When you turn on "Personalize using app data," At a Glance gets app info from your devices to provide you with tasks and notifications. Learn how to manage your device's app info.

Gmail smart features & controls

With smart feature controls, At a Glance can give you info from your email like boarding passes and event reservations. Learn how to use smart features and controls.

Location information

Your location information settings lets At a Glance help you get useful information based on your location. For example, it can alert you when there’s an earthquake or severe weather nearby.

For some features, At a Glance requires access to your precise location. Learn how to manage your location settings.

If you turn on Location History, you can get info about locations you’ve visited. Learn how to manage your Location History.

If you set your home and work addresses, you can get real-time traffic information about local traffic. Learn to set your home, work, and other locations.

Personal results

You can find personalized content with At a Glance. Learn how to turn on or off personal results.

Access to Calendars

You can get information about future calendar events with At a Glance.

If you don’t want At a Glance to show events from your calendar, remove calendar permissions from the Google app:

  1. On your Android device, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Apps and then Google and then Permissions.
  3. Tap Calendar and then Don’t allow.

Tip: Some calendar events come to At a Glance through app notifications.

Access to Google Wallet

You can get access to future event passes stored in Google Wallet with At a Glance. Learn how to manage passes in Google Wallet.

If you don’t want At a Glance to show passes from Google Wallet, update permissions in Google Wallet:

  1. On your Android device, go to Google Wallet .
  2. Tap Profile picture or initial and then Your data in Wallet and then Manage passes data.
  3. Turn off Use passes across Google.
Notifications from installed apps

App notifications can be used for some features, like calendar events. If you don’t want At a Glance to use app notifications, change your device’s settings.

To change use app notifications:

  1. On your Android device, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Notifications and then Device & app notifications and then Android System Intelligence.

Nearby devices

You can get info about nearby devices with At a Glance. For example, when you connect your device to Bluetooth headphones, At a Glance can give you battery info.

To allow At a Glance to find and connect to your nearby devices:

  1. On your Android device, go to Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy and then Permission Manager and then Nearby Devices.

Turn off personal results

If you don’t want to receive personalized content, you can turn off personal results in Google Assistant Settings.

Even if you turn off personal results, some potentially sensitive content might be displayed in At a Glance. You can manage your content in At a Glance through your device settings.

  1. At the top of your home screen, press and hold At a Glance.
  2. Tap Customize and then At a Glance .
