User Services (Gmail, Calendar, ...)
Calendar: Inviting room to all day event blocks it midnight to midnight UTC
Currently, if a resource is invited to and all-day event, it becomes blocked from midnight to midnight in UTC time zone, regardless of where room is physically located. If users don't like that, the workaround for them is to create a timed event (i.e. non-all-day) for the resource during the exact times they want it to be blocked off. updated 10/16/2012

AIM functionality in Google Chat does not work
Status: AIM login functionality for our Chat product will soon be turned off. We are waiting for needed system updates on the part of AIM's creator, AOL, to include Google Apps customers. We realize this causes a gap with no AIM integration at all being offered for Google Apps customers during this time, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this. Existing Gmail users will still be able to use this feature in their personal accounts.

We are in direct communication with AOL, and they have informed us that they are actively working on these needed updates. Once AOL has finished updating their system, we will reinstate AIM functionality for our Chat product and update this page. updated 10/16/2012

Calendar doesn't display correctly in IE9 or IE10 with compatibility mode
Google supports all current browsers and previous releases of browsers. For Internet Explorer specifically, this includes support for IE9 and IE10, but not IE8. If IE9/10 is run with compatibility mode for IE8, users may also be experiencing issues loading Google Calendar.

The fix is easy: Users can enforce the native state of IE9/10 by pressing Shift + F12 and selecting proper Browser mode and Document mode. This will force IE9/10 into the native mode and correctly display your calendar.

You can find more information about supported browsers at http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=33864. updated 04/22/2013

Redirect loop error when logging in via custom URLs
We are aware of an issue affecting domain specific login URL’s. Currently when you try to login in it will redirect you to a consumer login. If you are trying to access your Control Panel, you will see a redirect loop error. As a temporary workaround, please use the consumer login page with your full email address to login. updated 10/16/2012

Drive for your Mac/PC: Users see "Google Drive Needs to Quit: Error" when syncing large number of files
Status: Some users are experiencing an error that reads "Google Drive Needs to Quit" when a large number of files are being synced to Google Drive for the first time. Such a sync uses a large amount of memory, which leads to an error. We're working hard to fix this issue. In the meantime, if you receive this error, try adjusting your sync preferences so that you upload folders in smaller batches. updated 10/16/2012

After submission to the gallery, some templates may not be listed. Users trying to submit the same document as a new template will receive a message that the template already exists. Error sending large attachments from Outlook 2010 (with Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook)
Status: This is a known issue. By default, Microsoft Outlook 2010 disallows sending attachments greater than 20 megabytes (MB). If you try to send a larger attachment, you'll receive an error and the message won't be sent. Gmail, however, allows sending attachments up to 25MB in size.

Workaround: If you're using Outlook 2010 with Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook and want to send attachments up to 25MB (rather than just 20MB), you can modify your Windows registry as described in these instructions from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2222370 updated 10/16/2012

New Send As addresses don't show up until Outlook 2010 is restarted twice (with Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook)

Status: This is a known issue. When using Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook, you can update your available From addresses in Outlook and select a new default From address in Outlook, by signing in to your Gmail account and adding Send As addresses in your Gmail Settings. However, if you're using Outlook 2010, you must do the following before these changes take effect in Outlook:

  1. Restart Outook.
  2. After Outlook starts, wait for Google Apps Sync to finish synchronizing all your email (track progress in the Sync Status dialog).
  3. After your email has synched, restart Outlook again.

Sending mail from 3rd-party apps (using Send To > Mail Recipient), with Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook
Status: This is a known issue that applies when using Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook with Outlook 2010. If you've added a non-Google account to Outlook, such as a POP or IMAP account, you can't send messages from that account, that were attached directly from another application. That is, say you're viewing a Microsoft Word document or PDF file in another application. You can use that application's Send to > Mail recipient command to attach the file to a message you send from Outlook. However, if you select to send the message from your POP or IMAP account, it will instead appear to come from your primary Google Apps account. updated 10/16/2012

Accepting a calendar invitation from Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook
Status: This is a known issue. If you accept a calendar invitation from another Google Apps user in Outlook Mail by clicking the Accept button at the top of the message, then add a reply using Outlook's "Edit the response before sending" option, the recipient will get a reply indicating that you accepted the invitation. However, your response text will not appear (the message body is blank). updated 10/16/2012

"Invalid username/password" repeatedly thrown while syncing to iOS devices through Google Sync
Status: This is a known issue. We are currently investigating possible fixes.

Workaround: Use this process when the user is getting incorrect user/password prompts:

  1. Follow all steps to setup the account here
  2. Make sure Safari cookies are enabled by following these steps on the device: Enable cookies in Settings - Safari - Accept Cookies and reboot
  3. Using the web browser on the iPhone, clear CAPTCHA here
  4. Within 10 minutes of clearing the CAPTCHA, check that the password on the iOS device is correct and reset it if it is not.
  5. If the problem recurs, repeat step 3.

Accepting a calendar invitation you've previously declined (with Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook)
Status: This is a known issue. If you delete or decline an invitation on your calendar in Outlook, then later want to retrieve or accept the invite, you must do so from the Google Calendar web interface. If you drag the event back to your calendar in Outlook or try to accept it there, the change won't stick—the event will be deleted or marked as declined again, after the next sync with Google Apps. Instead, sign in to your Google Apps account in a web browser, open your calendar, and accept the invitation there. After that, the event will become available and remain accepted in Outlook. updated 10/16/2012

Creating meetings directly with contacts, in Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook
Status: This is a known issue. If you try to create a meeting with someone from their contact entry in Outlook 2010 (by right-clicking the contact, creating the meeting, then clicking Send), Outlook reports an error and the meeting isn't created. Instead, you'll have to create the meeting in Outlook Calendar. Note that this error only happens in Outlook 2010. In Outlook 2003 and 2007, creating meetings directly with contacts works fine. updated 03/12/2013

Incomplete email attachments (.msg or .eml) when sending from Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook to Exchange users
Status: Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook users sending email attachments (.MSG or .EML) to Microsoft Outlook users hosted on a legacy Exchange environment may receive an incomplete or missing attachment. Workaround: When attaching an email message as 'Outlook item' select 'Insert as Text Only'. This will copy the message attachment as text to the body of the new email. updated 02/07/2013
