When you search through your call, text or voicemail history, you can get more accurate results.
Use one or more of the commands below in a search on the Google Voice website or in the Google Voice app.
Search by person
- from:
- Use with someone's name or phone number to find the calls, texts or voicemail messages that you've received from them.
- Example: from:theresa smith – All calls and messages from Theresa Smith
- to:
- Use with someone's name or phone number to find the calls or texts that you've sent them.
- Example: to:555-555-5555 – All calls and messages to the number 555-555-5555
- with:
- Use with someone's name or phone number to find the calls, texts or voicemail messages that you've sent to or received from them.
- Example: with:theresa – All calls and messages to or from Theresa
- num:
- Use with someone's phone number to find the calls, texts or voicemail messages that you've sent to or received from them.
- Example: num:555-555-5555 – All calls and messages to or from the number 555-555-5555
Search by date
- before:YYYY-MM-DD
- Find calls, texts or voicemail messages sent or received before the specific date.
- Example: before:2015-11-6 – All calls and messages sent or received before 6 November 2015
- after:YYYY-MM-DD
- Find calls, texts or voicemail messages sent or received after the specific date.
- Example: after:2015-11-6 – All calls and messages sent or received after 6 November 2015
Search by folder
- in:inbox
- Find calls, texts or voicemail messages in your inbox.
- Example: in:inbox from:mike – All calls and messages from Mike in your inbox
- in:sms
- Find texts.
- Example: in:sms from:mike – All text messages from Mike
- in:voicemail
- Find voicemail messages.
- Example: in:voicemail from:mike – All voicemail messages from Mike
- in:unread
- Find new or unread calls, texts or voicemail messages.
- Example: in:unread from:mike – All new or unread calls and messages from Mike
- in:bin
- Find calls, texts or voicemail messages in your bin.
- Example: in:bin from:mike – All deleted calls and messages from Mike
Search by keyword
- message:
- Find texts or voicemail messages with a keyword in the message.
- Example: message:seattle to:555-555-5555 – All messages to the number 555-555-5555 mentioning 'Seattle'
