Notification

Starting June 20th, Google Assistant notes and lists will no longer work with non-Google list apps. You can still access your info in non-Google apps any time.

Create or edit lists on your Smart Display or Smart Clock

You can use Google Assistant to create lists for tasks like shopping or errands.

Important: For now, this feature isn't available in all languages or countries.

Step 1: Turn on personalization

When this setting is on, Google Assistant can read info like your shopping list and help you with payments for the devices in your home.

  1. On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app Google Home.
  2. At the bottom, tap Home Home and then Settings Settings.
  3. Under “Features,” tap Google Assistant and then Personal results.
  4. Edit settings.

Step 2: Create or edit your list

Create a list

  1. Say "Hey Google.”
  2. Say a command. For example, "Start a list."

Edit your list

You can use Google Assistant commands or list options to edit. For example:

  • Say a command like "Hey Google, add Take out the trash to my To Do list."
  • On your phone, ask Google Assistant to show you your list. Then, tap a list or See all lists.

Fix issues with lists

Where are my old lists?

Notes or lists created with Google Assistant using a non-Google list service won’t be available after June 20th, 2023.

If you used a non-Google app to create notes with Google Assistant, check that app for your list info.
