If you're a YouTube Music Premium member, you can enjoy music offline by downloading your favorite songs, playlists, or albums to your mobile device. This means you can keep listening to your favorite artists, even if you're not connected to the internet or want to save on data.
Today, we’re excited to share a new way to download YouTube music that will save you time and data – smart downloads. When you enable smart downloads, the YouTube Music app will automatically download up to 500 songs that you’ll be able to listen to anywhere — whether or not you’ve got a data connection. This feature is available on the YouTube Music app for Android with plans to bring it to iOS in the future.
How it works:
How it works:
- Turn on this feature in the YouTube Music App under Settings > Downloads > toggle "Smart downloads". Here you can also select how much storage you want to use.
- Once enabled, every night when you’re on Wi-Fi, we’ll automatically download your favorite music – songs, albums and playlists – based on your previous listening history. This way, you’ll always have something to listen to, no matter your connectivity! Just pick the number of songs and we’ll do the rest.
- Note: Smart downloads works in addition to music you’ve already selected to download, so turning on this feature will not remove any of your already downloaded content!
Hope you enjoy the feature and feel free to drop comments and questions below!
