Where can I find my Google Play Music transferred data in YouTube Music? 0 Recommended Answers 0 Replies 1 Upvote
Once you’ve completed transferring your content across the two services, you’ll see that the set-up of your music looks a bit different in the YouTube Music app than it did in Google Play Music – these changes were designed to give you the best possible listening experience!
Even though they’re organized a bit differently, you'll still be able to find all of your data in YouTube Music (except for podcasts, see below) – here's where to look:
Even though they’re organized a bit differently, you'll still be able to find all of your data in YouTube Music (except for podcasts, see below) – here's where to look:
- Your saved albums, songs, playlists & artists can be found in your library
Note that you may see discrepancies in numbers if you’ve used YouTube Music in the past and some songs were already part of your library, or if some songs were duplicated during the transfer process. You can remove the duplicate songs manually by clicking the three dot icon next to it and selecting ‘Remove from library’. Additionally, certain songs or albums may not transfer due to rights or licensing issues, more on that at our Help Center.
- Your uploaded and purchased songs can be found under uploads
- Open YouTube Music & select Library
- Select Albums, Songs or Artists
- Select the Uploads tab! (If you’re on desktop, click on the down arrow next to YouTube Music – on the right hand side of your screen – and select Uploaded Music.)
- Your saved stations can be found under playlists
- Go to the YouTube Music app
- Tap Library > Playlists > Stations
- Tip: To listen to an artist or song station you’ve listened to in Google Play Music, search for the artist or song and tap “Start Radio”.
- Your thumbs ups can be in found your likes playlist
- Go to the YouTube Music app.
- Tap Library > Playlists > Your Likes
- Your podcasts will need to be transferred to Google Podcasts
YouTube Music does not support podcasts, so you won’t be able to transfer your podcasts from Google Play Music to YouTube Music. Instead, you can easily move your podcast info to the Google Podcasts app. More on this at our Help Center.
Just so you know, you’ll still have access to your Google Play Music account after completing your transfer. This means you can use either app to listen and discover music, or make the switch over to YouTube Music completely. If you have any more questions, let us know in the comments below!
