How to search for music within a playlist

*DISCLAIMERS* For the YouTube Music app: You must download the entire playlist (Youtube premium feature). I can confirm this works on Android, unsure about iOS.
For YouTube Music desktop/web: You must load your entire playlist. I can confirm this works on Windows within the Chrome and Firefox browser. Unsure about iOS and other browsers.

For those that want to search your playlist for a specific song/artist in the YouTube Music app, follow these steps:
1) Download your entire playlist. This may take awhile if you're downloading several songs
• Open the YouTube Music app
• Navigate into your playlist
• Press the arrow pointing down. If you already downloaded your playlist, press the two arrows circling each other to update your downloads
2) Tap the search button and search your desired song/artist. Press the enter button, do not press any result that shows
3) Directly under the search bar, you'll see three options: YT MUSIC, LIBRARY and DOWNLOADS
4) Press DOWNLOADS
5) Do not press the downloaded playlist. This will direct you into that playlist with no change
6) You should immediately see "Songs", and if you don't, scroll down until you do

Here, you'll see all of the songs with your specified keyword located within your downloaded playlist. The songs displayed are in no particular order.

For those who want to search a playlist for a specific song/artist on YouTube Music desktop/web, follow these steps:
1) Navigate into your playlist
2) Load your entire playlist. This may take awhile if your playlist has a lot of music. Skipping this step will prevent the search prompt from detecting all the music with your specified keyword
• Slowly drag the side bar scroller down until you see the bar no longer updating its length. Scrolling too fast doesn't update the playlist properly
2) Press CTRL+F to open a search prompt for the webpage and enter your keyword. No need to press enter

Clicking the arrows in the search prompt allows you to easily navigate to different songs that include your keyword.

While these methods aren't perfect, they're useful until YouTube can roll out official search functionality within playlists. I hope this helps anyone with playlists that have more than 300 songs, because it certainly helped me.

I can't understand this product gap and I it is incredibly that as users we have to do all this non intuitive steps in order to play a song.

I hope YouTube product owners and managers see this, because there are some many gaps and this one for me is huge... I'm not switching to another app just because I also have access to YouTube video with the same membership.

Hi User 4932991334666302013, welcome to the free, consumer version of YouTube Music (a telephony product) community forum!

Product team members do not monitor this forum for feature requests.  If you'd like to leave them feedback directly, you can.

You can leave feedback to the developers, from within the YouTube Music app, by tapping on your avatar in the top right corner, then selecting Help and feedback, then select Send feedback.

You will not receive any response, but rest assured, the developers do read all of the feedback, to see what people are saying, and what they desire in the YouTube Music app.
