I can't get YouTube music to work on my Sonos

I have sonos at home that I use with Spotify and Amazon music but I can't get YouTube Music to work with it. How do I get it to work?

Good news, it is now possible to play your music from YouTube Music on your Sonos device.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for coming to the community to ask your question. We are currently working on more features to add to YouTube Music. Currently Sonos support is not available, but we will keep you updated here, when more features roll out.

Google are there any updates? I am a fan of Youtube Music, but please embed the possiblity to cast to a Sonos. Google play music has the functionality. Or at least give us news or a date/time about when it's able to cast.

Hi Michael, I am able to play only some streams of music from YouTube to sonos. I have premium subscription. Can you please advise why? If I don't ask google assistant to play on sonos, it plays perfectly.

Same problem as michaela. I pay a shitload of money and can’t use it on sonos. Can you guys help me or do i have to switch back to Spotify?

The current integration between YT Music & Sonos only allows you to play music through the SONOS app.This is not what we want.

We want to be able to cast directly from YT Music to Sonos the same way you can with Google Play Music. Is this ever going to happen. If. It this is a deal breaker!

If I could even get that to work. I'm subscribed to YouTube via YouTube Premium which, as far as I understand, also includes YouTube Music Premium. However my Sonos controller does not see this and tells me that I need YouTube Music Premium. That's rather annoying.

I have exactly the same problem as TalonTheDragon. I have tried every suggested solution I have found but Sonos insists that I am not a YouTube Music premium member. I have a YouTube premium subscription. Looks like many more have the same problem. Is Google doing anything to solve this problem?

I've had this problem with being unable to play with my account on my YT Premium Family membership, but my son's (a sub-account on the same YT Premium Family) works fine.

I've emailed and called and they're always blaming Sonos.

They flat out told me they're unable to fix it.

Same problem... Can't connect with Sonos since the system always asks for a Premium contract, which I have... No answer from Sonos, nor from You Tube Music

I have the same issue, Sonos doesn't recognize my YouTube music premium membership
