Many years ago, we introduced the option to automatically post your public YouTube activity with your social media followers on both Twitter and Google+. Since then, we’ve found that social sharing works better when the message is more customized and takes advantage of social media features, such as @mentions. Overall, this provides a better experience for both you and your followers vs automatically generated posts.

After January 31st, the ability to automatically post your YouTube Activity on Twitter and Google+ will no longer be available. You can still share videos on social networks directly from YouTube via the Share button. Creators will also see an option to Share on social networks/platforms right after they successfully upload a new video.

Automatic sharing of YouTube activity to Twitter
The options in YouTube Settings > Connected apps > “Share your public activity to Twitter” will be going away. This only affects sharing of public activity going forward, items already shared will remain on Twitter.

Automatic sharing to Twitter and Google+ via uploads or Creator Studio
You’ll also no longer see the option to automatically share your video on Google+ and Twitter via the upload flow in Creator Studio.

Important note: we are not removing the ability to add social media links to your channel banner. You can still add a link to your Twitter profile from your Channel > About tab > Customize channel > Links.

Hope this heads up is helpful,

I can't believe I'm actually the first person to reply to this :/
Honestly I don't see a point to removing this since people who want to customize their tweets already do it and people who use this feature probably won't manually tweet once it's gone, but I don't work for a multi billion dollar company so idk

It was bad enough when you took out the tagging of creators that opted into being tagged, but getting rid of the feature all together is ridiculous. Sure, if people want to SHARE videos, they'll share them with a customised message, like we've always done. But people don't hit the like button and then take time to share every single video they've 'liked'. This supported creators a lot, having that extra boost in promotion on Twitter. But I wouldn't expect anything less from YouTube at this point...

RIP, that was such a convenient feature. I can share on twitter and google plus at the same time as soon as I upload a video.

I'm fine with this except for no longer being able to automatically share to Twitter and G+ with a custom message via uploads on Creator Studio. It was honestly useful.

Taking away the auto when you can customize the message while auto-sharing directly seems out of step, it just means remembering to do one more post vs. setting it up right away.
