Big updates are happening on YouTube. Check out the highlights below, read the full version on our blog post.
Gaming has a new homepage on YouTube: You can find the new YouTube Gaming destination at youtube.com/gaming.
At the very top of the page you’ll see personalized gaming content based on what you like to watch. You’ll also see top live games and the latest gaming videos from your subscriptions, bringing the best of uploaded videos and live gaming to one destination. We’ve also built dedicated sections for live streams and trending videos.
New pages for specific games: Game pages make it easy to find popular videos and live streams about a game, as well as other games from the same publisher or developer. With tens of thousands of different game pages, you’ll be able to find content no matter how big or small the game is. Learn more.
Find new gaming creators each week with “Gaming Creators on the Rise”: Each week on the Gaming homepage, we’ll showcase a new up-and-coming gaming creator to help more fans discover their content. This is launching first in the U.S. and we’ll continue to roll this out to more countries in the future.
Update to the standalone YouTube Gaming app: We launched the standalone app for gamers back in 2015 and while it has a strong audience and has allowed us to test many gaming specific features, the amount of gamers we’re able to reach is far bigger on YouTube. That’s why, in March 2019, we’ll retire the YouTube Gaming app and focus all of our gaming efforts on YouTube where we can reach the 200M+ of you who come to YouTube every day to watch gaming. We continue to be a team of gamers working on YouTube Gaming and we can't wait for you to experience Gaming on YouTube in a whole new way. We look forward to your feedback and in the meantime, keep streaming, keep playing, and GLHF.
