YouTube Mobile (iOS): I keep getting Donald Trump campaign ads with no "stop showing me" option.

0 Recommended Answers 159 Replies 1019 Upvotes Every time I load the "home" tab on YouTube's mobile app the first video on the page is one of four campaign ads for Donald Trump (all attack ads against his opponents). The videos are:
"Democrats Ruined Their Cities""Joe Biden, In His Own Words""Did Something Happen to Joe Biden?""With Biden, China Is In Charge"
No matter how many times I refresh the tab or restart the app, those same pro-Donald Trump ads always appear as the literal first thing I see on the tab.![]()
This would be less of a problem if the options for responding to them were like normal ads. However, whereas literally every other ad I've encountered gives me the options:

If I didn't know better, I'd accuse YouTube of giving political ads from US Presidential candidates special treatment so that whichever candidate the algorithm thinks you support gets constantly forced down your throat whether you want it or not.
And for the record I have no idea why the algorithm thinks I would ever even consider supporting Donald Trump. I have never in my life liked the man.

Checked this forum and there's at least three other people with the same issue.
Still having it by the way. Literally the only ad I ever get on the homepage is fucking Donald Trump's attack ads against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. With NO OPTION TO SAY "DON'T SHOW ME THIS AD."

It really is annoying to see every time I go to the homepage. But it's obvious this is mr. President trying to use fear tactics to get votes from undecided voters by funneling money to Google to show his ads non-stop. Never forget in America, it's all about the benjamins.

I will be deleting all YouTube apps from my devices until this stops.
It is offensive and dangerous frankly that Youtube basically made these toxic ads the banner of their apps and given users no way to hide them.

having the same issue. every ad from other sources can be blocked except for donald trump ads.

I’ve also deleted my YouTube app. It’s hard because I’ve relied on YouTube as a way to escape all this crap, but being forced to view it, I’ve decided to wait till it’s over. I’m all for free speech, and I don’t have to agree with the ads. But being that this is the only one I can’t opt out of, and being that it’s forced on me just for opening the app, I’m done with YouTube for now. In the words of our “illustrious “ leader, “So sad.”

Having the same issue and I’m pretty disgusted at google for this. Switching back to my adblocker even though I took it off to support people I watch on there.
