Video Chapters to help you more easily navigate videos 0 Recommended Answers 12 Replies 1468 Upvotes
Have you ever spent time trying to find an exact moment in a video? Look no further! We’re introducing Video Chapters on Desktop, Android and iOS, which allows you to jump forward to a specific section of a video, rewatch a portion of a video, and more. Chapters appear at the bottom of the video player and use timestamps from the creator's video description. Note: chapters are only shown on videos if the creator has included them. Learn more about video chapters here.
Creators: Video Chapters is an optional feature. If you choose to add chapters, we’ll use the timestamp data listed in your video description. To enable the feature, make sure the first timestamp listed in your video description starts at 0:00, and that your video has at least 3 timestamps or chapters, with each chapter being 10 seconds or longer.
If you want to disable video chapters on any of your content, you can adjust the first timestamp in your video description to be something other than 0:00 for example, just change it to be "0:01."
We’ve received positive feedback from the experiment -- for example, people liked having songs broken into chapters and enjoyed being able to jump to a specific part of a video. We're excited to hear your feedback and how creators are using the feature in their videos – share all of this in the comments below.
