I posted a video today and it got a copyright claim but it said "monetized in some territories" below it. What does that mean?

It means the copyright owner monetizes your video and claims ad revenue in territories where the owner holds sole rights to the content he or she claimed in your video.

No it does not. It means what Geek on a Budget stated. The copyright owner of the claimed content monetizes the video and collects the revenue.

Yes; it means that you can't monetize the video yourself, and that all revenue is collected by the copyright owner.

None of these 'answers' are what was asked In the question - he already knows his video Is 'Monetized In some territories' - he's asking what exactly Is meant by that statement? Does It mean the Copyright claimant can put Adverts on the video? Or does It mean that If he puts Adverts on the video himself, any cash generated goes to the claimant? I, too, can't get a clear answer from anywhere and these replies are of no use to anyone. The question Is - HOW do they monetize your upload? What form does It take? How does It work?Does the uploader see these ads on his or her upload? How many Ads can they put on it; are there limits? Posting pointless answers, which fail to resolve any aspects of the original questions, Is a waste of everyones' time. WHAT EXACTLY DOES MONETIZED IN SOME TERRITORIES MEAN, HOW DOES IT WORK, WHAT IS THE ACTUAL PROCESS? If you can't provide a worthwhile answer then why bother replying?

"Does It mean the Copyright claimant can put Adverts on the video?"
Yes (answered already)

"Or does It mean that If he puts Adverts on the video himself, any cash generated goes to the claimant?"
No, of course not.

"HOW do they monetize your upload?"
They put ads on it.They choose the format, number and placement. They get any and all revenue generated from the ads.

"How many Ads can they put on your upload, Is It limited?"
It depends on how long the video is and the type of ad chosen. They can put about one overlay ad on per minute and one mid-roll ad every several minutes.

The main point is that once a video is claimed, the uploader has no choice of anything to do with advertising. All the choices are made by the claimant.

I still don't understand what it means by "monitized in SOME TERRITORIES" and it lists territories.  Does that mean that in those listed territories you get the money in territories not listed the claimant gets the money or vice-versa?  Or am I totally off the mark with it and why does it list certain territories after it says can be monitized in some territories and it lists territores...?
