Whether you’re streaming your favorite video game, hosting a live Q&A or teaching a virtual class, the new Live Control Room helps you create, manage, and monitor your live streams, all in one place. To start live streaming, go to YouTube Studio and click Create > Go live.
If you’re new to live streaming, we recommend you read this Help Center article first. If you’re looking for advanced streaming with an encoder, but haven’t used Live Control Room yet, watch this video to help you get started.
While we're still working on putting the final touches on Live Control Room, we've made a bunch of updates and improvements for you to try out (don’t worry, you will still have access to the Classic live tools within Live Control Room in case you need them):
- Unprocessed live replay editing: With unprocessed live replay editing, you can now create video highlights immediately after ending your live stream using the YouTube Studio Editor.
- More data on YouTube Analytics: You can now see the breakdown of how much each Publish format (Live streams, Uploads and Premiers) is contributing to your channel growth. For example, if you are a creator that live streams more often than you upload, you’ll see the impact of these live streams reflected in your metrics.
- Auto-start and Auto-stop: You can now set your live stream to start and stop automatically using the encoder in Live Control Room. Note that you will still need to create the stream in Live Control Room to enable these settings in the dashboard view and, when reusing settings for future streams, Auto-start and Auto-stop will be copied over as well.
- Improving navigation: To improve navigation, we moved the main options from the top to the left of the page, including the option to stream with Classic Live tools.
- Automatically unlist live replay once stream ends: You can now automatically set your live replay (archive) to be saved as unlisted after a stream is processed.
- Expanded functionality in the Manage tab: In the Manage tab, you can now view the connection status of all your streams in one view. Additionally, you can make bulk edits to your title, description, audience (Made for Kids), and visibility.
We hope you enjoy these updates and continue sharing your feedback on the new live streaming experience in YouTube Studio so we can make it the best it can be. We will continue updating this post with the latest updates in the Reply section. To receive notifications, hit the Subscribe button below.
Happy streaming!
