[AUDIO] Normilized video ( Content Loudness) 1 Recommended Answer 7 Replies 17 Upvotes

I have a problem after uploading videos sometimes, the volume is slighly reduced compare to the original mp4 files from my desktop. That's super cancer to be honest

For example :

Vidéo 1 : Volume / Normalized
100% / 57% (content loudness 4.9dB)

Vidéo 2 : Volume / Normalized
100% / 39% (content loudness 8.1dB)

All my video are recorded with pro gear and the audio is balanced, there is no reason some video got 100% normalized and others 30-60% [...]

Any solutions about this problem ?

Thanks !

If i change the Hz frequency from 48k to 44.1k or 44.1k to 48k the video is reloaded and it bypass the loudness normalization, but then if you refresh or load a new video, it doesnt work anymore :P

You are best off supplying the highest quality you can provide to YouTube and master to be within that loudness range, rather than trying to work around it.

BTW, the first number "100%" is your player volume knob (the little speaker in the bottom left corner of the player)...not the amount of normalization.
You can pull up the Stats for Nerds overlay for the video, and raise and lower/raise the player volume and see this number change while the loudness level stays the same.

Could you just upload a white noise (and/or pink noise?) at 0db and see how Youtube processes it, download it back and perhaps get a baseline?

This might help included most of the stats one needs to look at.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyKdtM92Yag  did a whitenoise test stats in description before and after youtube's processing.

I was looking for an answer to my problem: Per account loudness normalizes, so you might be interested.
So, i was trying to add a a video to a playlist and i had to switch accounts and i  realize that there is a significant change in loudness:

Main account:
Volume / Normalized
100% / 30% (content loudness 10.4dB)
"relative_loudness": "10.382"

Newer account: <<---- This one loud!
Volume / Normalized
100% / 76% (content loudness 2.4dB)
"relative_loudness": "2.382"
