"you cannot embed live streams"
0
I need to embed a live stream, but Creator Studio Classic states "you cannot embed live streams." I have linked an AdSense account. I manage other channels as well, and this was previously all I needed to do to enable live stream embedding. What other steps need to happen to enable embedding now?

Hi Tim Gales: if the Features tab of your YouTube channel says that you need to link an AdSense account to embed live streams, that is what you need to do.

To link AdSense to your channel, it has to be eligible for the YouTube Partner Program. That is at least 1000 subscribers and at least 4000 hours watch time in the past year.

Older channels were able to enable live stream embedding without linking AdSense, but that changed a while back.

Thank you for the reply PeggyK. Here's a screen capture from the advanced settings of the channel showing the Google Ads account linking. If there's something else that needs to happen can you provide more details? Even with this Google Ads account linked to my channel I get the "You cannot embed live streams" message.

Tim: Google Ads is not the same thing as AdSense.

Google Ads let you, the advertiser, pay for your ads to appear on other people's websites or YouTube channels.  You pay Google.

AdSense, lets you, the publisher, monetize your content by running ads. Most of those ads are paid for by advertisers who placed ads via Google Ads.  Google pays you.

So, what is required is that AdSense be linked to your YouTube channel.

Currently the only way you can connect an AdSense account is when your channel becomes eligible for the YouTube Partner Program. That requires at least 1000 subscribers, and at least 4000 hours watch time in the previous year.

You can check your channel's monetization status at https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UC/monetization

Thanks again for trying to help me PeggyK. I manage four YouTube channels for different ski areas. None of them has more than 1,000 subscribers or 4,000 hours of watch time, and none of them are eligible for monetization yet. Three of them can embed live videos without this though:

This new channel seems different. The monetization status on the features page shows "eligible" instead of "Not Enabled," and though the Embed live streams feature shows "eligible," there seems to be no way to enable it. Did something change recently and the older channels are grandfathered or something?

Or does that "Application submitted and in review" indicate something important? There's no way this channel will get to 1,000 subscribers any time soon, and it's frustrating that our other channels are already embedding live video without meeting this threshold but this channel can't seem to.

Tim it seems that the adsense restriction is for new accounts, not sure how new they have to be, but older accounts do not get that restriction. Hypno mentioned it in another thread I was in where this issue came up.

On the account where it is not allowing embedding of livestreams does it show "Partner verified" or just "Verified"?

There may not be an AdSense-linking requirement on established channels. New channels will see that requirement. YouTube hasn't provided any additional information about this. My impression is that if you keep the channel in good standing, it may eventually no longer need to link AdSense to enable live stream embedding.

Note that it doesn't make a difference whether the channel is "Verified" or "Partner Verified".
I have a channel that has live stream embedding enabled that was created in 2017, has one unlisted upload, no subscribers and is just "Verified".

"Application submitted and in review" indicate something important?
That likely means your channel was monetized or was under review for monetization when the eligibility requirements changed.

OK, guys, suppose that I am not interested in monetization, but I need an option to embed the live stream on my own page. So, is it somehow possible? What are the conditions?

My account is verified and the option for Embed live streams is Eligible. How can I have it enabled?

Jerzy Michalczyk: right now the only options from YouTube are 1) have your channel reach the eligibility requirements for the YouTube Partner Program, and then link AdSense. You don't have to actually monetize any videos.  2) if you just wait long enough, and keep you channel in good standing, you may eventually be able to embed without linking AdSense. However, there isn't any specific amount of time that takes.

Probably there is no any workaround. I know that not everyone experience the issue with live stream embeding. No idea what is YT politic in this matter. No support from them as well.
