Community Guidelines violations and strikes have the same penalty wherever it happens – including YouTube stories, playlists, custom thumbnails, live streams, community posts, or links to other websites included in a video’s description or infocard.
Here’s more about what happens when you violate YouTube Community Guidelines:

We understand mistakes happen and people don’t mean to violate our policies — that’s why the first violation is only a warning. We hope this gives you the opportunity to review our policies and avoid it happening again. You can appeal warnings directly from YouTube Studio. Note: your channel will only be warned once, the next time your content is found to violate Community Guidelines you’ll receive a strike.

First Strike
If we find your content doesn’t follow our policies for a second time, you will receive a strike. This will result in a one-week freeze on the ability to upload any new content to YouTube. Full privileges will be restored automatically after the one week period, but your strike will remain on your channel for 90 days. If you think the strike is a mistake, you can appeal.

Second Strike
If you get a second strike within the same 90 day period as your first strike, this will result in a two-week freeze on the ability to upload any new content to YouTube. If there are no further issues, full privileges will be restored automatically after the two week period, but each strike expires 90 days from the time it was issued.

Third Strike
Three strikes in the same 90 day period will result in your channel being permanently removed from YouTube. Also, note that each strike expires in 90 days from the time it is issued and that deleting the content will not remove your strike.

More details on the one-week and two-week freeze
During this time, you won’t be able to upload any new content to YouTube. This includes uploading new videos, live streams, stories, community posts, and custom thumbnails. You will also not be able to edit the content led to the strike. You will be able to edit other videos and content to make sure it complies with our policies, as well as comment, create playlists, and access other channel settings.

Impact on current Live Streaming restrictions:
Previous strikes blocking the live streaming functionality for 90 days will be updated with the new strike guidelines. If it's been 7 days since strike 1 was issued or 14 days since strike 2 was issued, then your current live streaming restriction will be gone. The change is rolling out to all channels over several days. As soon as your channel gets the update, the penalties and durations will be in place.
