New features and updates to the YouTube Studio app
Announcement
Hey creators,
We’ve recently added a ton of new features to the YouTube Studio app to make it even easier for you to manage your content while you’re away from your computer. We’ve summarized some of the changes and tweaks we’ve made below but we’ll continue to update the app with even more features as we go.

Recent Updates to the YouTube Studio App:
New Search Filters for Comments
We’ve launched filters for comments in the Studio mobile app to make it even easier for you to search for certain types of comments you want to reply to. Try out the new comment filters by tapping on “Comments” in the bottom navigation bar, and you’ll see a set of filters that you can select at the top. You can use the following filters to help you search through your comments in a variety of ways.
Currently available filter options:
- Response status: have I already responded to this comment?
- Contains question: does the comment contain a question?
- Subscriber count: does the commenter have at least a certain number of subs?
- Subscriber status: is the commenter publicly subscribed to me?
- Member status: is the commenter a channel member?
- Search: Do any comments contain a specific word I want to search for?
New Analytics options in the Studio app
We’ve also recently brought in a bunch of helpful analytics information into the Studio app that you previously would’ve had to go to desktop to see. You can now monitor important information and get useful channel-level insights while you're on the go by opening the Studio app, tapping “Analytics” on the bar at the bottom of the screen, then scrolling through all the different charts of information we share on the app.
With this update, you’ll now see some of the information you already know (and hopefully love!) like a few of the examples we've shared below:

We’re aiming to make sure that in the future whenever we launch new analytics features or channel insights, that we bring them to both the desktop experience, as well as the Studio mobile app.
Mobile Monetization Appeals
We’ve also added the ability to appeal video monetization decisions through the YouTube Studio app. We hope this doesn’t happen often, but if you’re ever away from your computer and you get a video monetization decision that you don’t agree with (i.e. yellow icon for limited monetization instead of green), you’ll be able to request a human review right from the app without having to rush home to a computer to make sure your video is appropriately monetized. You’ll see this option in the app by going to “Content”, finding a video that has limited monetization, tapping on the yellow $ icon, and selecting “Request review". After you do this, a policy specialist will look at the video again, and if appropriate, will change the video’s monetization status.
Currency setting now available for Revenue Metrics
We’ve added a setting that lets you view your Revenue Metrics within Analytics in your chosen currency. We know some of you are balancing payments and revenue in a variety of currencies and want to be able to see your Analytics data through more than just $USD, so this should make that much easier! You can find the currency setting by tapping your channel icon in the top right > Settings > Currency. Note: changing the currency setting will apply to all users who have access to your channel, and also will apply Studio on desktop and the mobile app.
New Icons in YouTube Studio & a New App Icon
You might have noticed Studio’s fresh new look by now! We’ve also changed up the Studio app icon to bring it more in line with some of the other YouTube apps you may use (like YouTube Music and YouTube TV). If you haven’t updated your app yet, you might still see the old “gear” app icon so make sure to check your mobile device’s app store for an update. Once you’re in the app, you’ll also see some new icons that we freshened up to make them easier to see on mobile (especially for you dark mode users!).
New Bottom Navigation Bar
You’ll see some of these new icons in a new navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. We moved Dashboard, Content, Analytics, Comments, and Playlists to this new bottom bar instead of keeping all of them hidden behind the old three line menu in the top left so you can more easily switch between the things you want to see in the app.
We hope all of these updates make the Studio mobile app an even better place for you to manage your channel while you’re on the go. If you've never downloaded the app or it’s been a while since you’ve used it, links to the app store are here: (Android, iOS). Give it a download and let us know what you think!
If there’s any other updates to the Studio app that you’d like to see, please share in the comments below.
