Same thing happens to me. Could it be a youtube problem? I'm guessing since this happened to both of us within a few hours.

What I did was I changed my google password as well as checked to see if there were any other devices on my account....WHICH THERE WAS. I blocked/deleted the device and that seemed to work.

In my case, I think it was my fault, I explain: I was trying to erase a game that only took up space and was not using it on my Windows 10 notebook, so I went to the Internet to find out how to erase it permanently or at least prevent something from being left because that game was a pirate (no virus) and had no way to uninstall it directly. And I think there accidentally deleted some things, more specifically through the "Registry Editor" that is done with the command "Run" (bone, Windows + R Key) and all that process. If someone tells me how to recover deleted files in some way, I think I would return my YouTube channel to my notebook. But I'm not sure, it's just my guess and I may be totally wrong.

I had this problem today and the day before.  I’m using an iPad Pro with everything up to date.  It only happens on Safari though.  If I download and use the YouTube app, then I can sign right in.  I had to do this yesterday because I was looking for a video that I wanted to finish watching.  But after I was able to sign in on Safari again I deleted the app.  So I suppose I could just use the app exclusively, only I like to have multiple tabs open to videos that I want to watch.

That being said I’m not sure if it’s YouTube as much as it is a Safari problem?
