How are people able to just repost other people’s videos? It doesn’t seem right, even if they’re from another platform. Often the original Creator will share their videos across all platforms, and create a YouTube channel themselves to post their videos that they have posted to other platforms. YouTube’s platform doesn’t seem to have a way of reporting these channels and users from a viewer’s standpoint on behalf of their favorite Creator’s.

Some of these channels will give a half-ass credit to where the video originated from with little to no information, but now there are so many channels that I’m starting to see it less and less. Or they’re completely imitating Creator’s outright and claiming to be the Original Creator when the actual creator has their own channel that they upload their own content to. These reposting or imitation channels are creating posts about being thankful for receiving thousands of subscribers, too.

There needs to be an option when reporting channels/users for other users & viewers to report channels that are essentially stealing other people’s videos and content. They’re getting the subscribers and viewers which will eventually lead to them being monetized on content that is legally not theirs and is violating copyright.

Does anyone else think this is a problem that should be resolved? Or am I overstepping and making a bigger deal than this needs to be? I just feel this problem is only going to get worse and worse for Original Creator’s if this issue isn’t handled sooner than later.

You are presuming the channel owner is profiting. Copyright owners have the option of placing ads on their videos on other peoples channels and so they get all the money earned from the ads.

1st you are very wrong to assume they make any  money as they need to be YPP to earn anything and channels with a lot of unoriginal content aren't allowed in

2nd as  Dermacrosis said cc owners can choose to keep it live and place ads to earn from it

3rd cc owners take down a lot of these videos everyday some may get past the filter sometimes but almost all are deceted

I agree with this statement. I still see some videos on youtube that are from Twitch and only include "cc by" in the video description and still get monetization. and it seems that it's just a matter of the first uploader whether to report or not, if not, it's possible that many will do something like this.

I suggest you read my reply as that is likely the reason their are ads on their channel and not because they are monetised.

nah there are blackhat tricks to monetize, they buy monetized channels and spam this content.
or they can copyright claim their own video to make money.
this works on non monetized channels lol

copyright holders dont even care, these are random streamers and dont even have their content in content ID...

these channels are posting first on yt so it looks like original content to yt

dont listen to Dermacrosis, he does not know what he is talking about lol

Rendi Prasetya  yes as it is counted as reused content and you also need to read the ToS of tiktok which itself says you are not allowed to use material on their service on other streaming services.

You can not report it unless it is your own unique creation as only the copyright owner can deal with copyright matters. This is because copyright is a legal matter, between the claimant and the one they are making the claim against. YT takes no part in the decision making here and that is why there is no report option, unlike violations of YTS rules where they are the sole arbiter and so you can report.
