OGV files not transcoded properly

I have uploaded OGV files to Youtube. They used to get transcoded fine but now they are just a blur: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joAzMsP_2Zs

Please fix this. OGV is fast, lightweight and open source. Please support this file type!

In the meantime try this: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Ogv+to+Flv+Converter?content=90837

It's a handy little script that worked out of the box for me.

See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ffmpeg/+bug/305286/comments/19 for a workaround. Effectively does a lossless remux to .mkv via mkvtoolnix and then upload to YouTube

Is there anyway to down convert an ogv video from 1.1 to whatever version youtube has?

That link ("proper" way to do screencasts) makes it much more difficult to make a screencast. You have to guess the dimensions, instead of selecting a visual box to record in like gtk-recordmydesktop.

I'm also experiencing this problem.  I have managed to work around it using very cumbersome scripts, but less technical users will probably just give up.  YouTube needs to fix this problem.

This problem still exists. This is AFTER remuxing to MKV as well. My video is in Theora, so what am I supposed to do Google? Transcode and completely mess up the quality? Enquiring minds need to know how you expect us all to work around your incompetence.

Same here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zefw2sMbh2Y
I recorded this video with recormydesktop software,
$ recordmydesktop --no-sound --on-the-fly-encoding

It won't transcode properly. :(

The same here, .ogv file can be viewed in VLC player and so on. When I upload it to youtube - it's a blury sh*t.
