My channel was rejected for monetisation FAQ

Why was I rejected for monetisation?

If your application for the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) was rejected, it means our human reviewers believe that a significant portion of your channel does not meet our policies and guidelines. To learn about next steps, see the other questions in this article.

Can I apply again?

Yes. If it's your first rejection, you can re-apply to the YouTube Partner Programme 30 days after you get your rejection email. If it's not your first rejection, or you've previously re-applied, you can apply 90 days after you get the rejection email. You'll want to review your channel for policy violations before you apply again.

If you believe that your channel was incorrectly rejected from the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP), you have the option to appeal within 21 days, regardless of the number of application attempts.

What can I do to make my application stronger?

We can't promise that you'll be able to monetise after fixing your channel. But we do have some general guidelines to help you get your channel to a point where it's eligible for the programme.

  1. Read your rejection email. It will tell you the specific policies that your channel violated.
  2. Then, check your content (videos, titles, descriptions, thumbnails and tags) against our YouTube Channel Monetisation Policies and our Community Guidelines.
  3. The next step is to edit or delete any videos that violate our policies.

If you re-apply, our review team will carefully look over your content again. We'll email you to let you know when the process is complete (it takes about a month). You can also check the status of your application in the Earn section of YouTube Studio.
