Resolve Content ID Issues

The features described in this article are available only to partners who use YouTube's Content ID matching system.

Within the Issues tab of your Content Manager are actions that require your attention and may be impacting your assets, references or claims. Not reviewing items with Action required may result in lost ownership and/or revenue. Issues with Action required may include:

Reference overlaps

Review segments of your references that overlap with references from other content owners and specify which party owns the exclusive rights to overlapping segments. This allows Content ID to associate claims with the correct reference.

Invalid references

Review your potentially invalid references to confirm if the segment is eligible for Content ID. Future claims made against this potentially invalid reference portion will all be made pending until the segment is addressed.

Ownership conflicts

Asset Ownership Conflicts arise when multiple content owners provide 100% asset ownership in a specific territory. Review the asset details to ensure that your ownership is up to date, request ownership or contact the other owners to resolve the conflict.

Potential, Disputed and Appealed claims

Review and action Potential claims (possible claims pending review, claims routed for review due to partner policy), and Disputed and Appealed claims from users contesting the claims on their videos.
