Navigating between videos

While watching a YouTube video, there are a couple of ways to navigate between videos.

Player Controls

When a video is paused, player controls are displayed over the paused video. When a video is playing, tap the video and player controls will display over the video.
  • Next: navigates to the next suggested video or to the next video in the current playlist.
  • Previous: navigates to the previous video watched or to the previous video in the current playlist.

Swiping

Note: This feature is available on iOS 6s or more recent iPhones.
While a video is either playing or paused, swiping horizontally anywhere on the page navigates between videos. This works in both portrait and fullscreen mode.

Next: Swipe your finger right to left to navigate to the next suggested video or to the next video in the current playlist.
Previous: Swipe your finger left to right to navigate to the previous video watched or to the previous video in the current playlist.
A partial swipe (not swiping all the way across the screen) shows a sneak peek of the next or previous video, with continued play and audio of the current video.
