Speed up or slow down YouTube videos

You can play a video at different speeds or fast forward and rewind videos on many devices.

Note: For performance reasons, you must be on Android version 5.0 or above to play videos at different speeds.

Go to a video.

1. Tap the video once, then tap More .
2. Tap Playback Speed.
3. Select the speed at which you'd like the video to play.

To fast forward or rewind a video by 10 seconds:

• To rewind, double-tap the left side of the video-screen.
• To fast-forward, double-tap the right side of the screen.

To fast forward a video at 2 times speed: 

1. Tap and hold anywhere on the video. 
2. To stop fast forwarding, lift your finger.

Note: Playback speed may not be available on all smart TVs and streaming devices.

1. On a video’s watch page, select Settings .
2. Select Speed.
3. Select the speed at which you’d like the video to play.
