Note:

If you'd like to watch YouTube in ambient mode, you have to turn on Dark theme first for your device.

The YouTube iPhone and iPad app

For iOS 13 (or newer) users:

1. Open the YouTube app .
2. Select your profile picture .
3. Tap Settings .
4. Tap General.
5. Tap Appearance.
6. Select Use device theme to use your device's Dark theme setting.
   OR
   Turn on Light or Dark theme within the YouTube app.

For other iOS users:

1. Open the YouTube app .
2. Select your profile picture .
3. Tap Settings .
4. Tap Appearance.
5. Turn on Light or Dark theme in the YouTube app.

The YouTube Studio app for iPhone and iPad

From iPhone settings:

1. Go to Settings  Display and brightness.
2. Select 'Dark' to turn on Dark mode. 

From iPhone Control Centre:

1. Pull down from the top-right corner of your device to open the iPhone Control Centre.
2. Touch and hold the brightness control, then tap Dark mode off.
