Full screen mode lets you maximize your screen space for a more immersive viewing experience.

Use full screen mode to improve your YouTube viewing experience

Watch a video in full screen

To watch while your device is horizontal

1. Tap the video you want to watch.
2. At the bottom of the video player, tap Full screen .
3. Turn your device horizontally.

To watch while your device is vertical

1. Go to the video that you want to watch.
2. Swipe in a downward motion anywhere below the video player.

Zoom in to expand to full screen

1. Go to the video you'd like to expand.
2. With two fingers, pinch out on the video screen.

To zoom in, your device must have an aspect ratio greater than 16:9.

Exit full screen

To exit full screen while your device is horizontal:

1. Tap the video.
2. At the bottom of the player, tap Exit full screen .

To exit full screen while your device is vertical, swipe up.

Note: Keep in mind that YouTube videos on other websites, like blogs or news articles, may not have a full screen option.
