Edit playlists

You can add or edit playlist titles and descriptions, reorder videos, or remove videos from a playlist.

Note: This feature may not be available with supervised experiences on YouTube. Learn more.

Add a playlist description

1. Go to the Library tab  in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist that you'd like to edit.
3. Select Edit .
4. Add a title or description.
5. Tap the check in the upper corner to confirm your change.

Edit a playlist title or description

1. Go to the Library tab  in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist that you'd like to edit.
3. Select Edit .
4. Edit a title or description.
5. Tap the check in the upper corner to confirm your change.

Reorder content in a playlist

1. Go to the Library tab  in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist you'd like to edit.
3. To the left of the video or Short, tap and hold the two lines  next to the content that you want to move.
4. Drag the video or Short up or down to reorder the playlist.

Filter your playlist by video type

1. Go to the Library tab  in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist you'd like to edit.
3. Choose the chip with the type of content that you want to view in your playlist:
   1. All: Displays all content saved to the playlist.
   2. Shorts: Displays Shorts saved to the playlist.
   3. Videos: Displays long-form videos saved to the playlist.

Remove videos from a playlist

To remove videos from your playlists, use these instructions depending on your version of YouTube mobile.

YouTube app

1. Go to the Library tab in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist that you'd like to edit.
3. Tap More  next to the content that you want to remove.
4. Tap Remove from [PLAYLIST NAME].

If the instructions above don't work, you probably don't have the new version of this feature, which is slowly being released to all users. Use the instructions below.

1. Go to the Account tab  in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist that you'd like to edit.
3. Tap More  next to the content that you want to remove.
4. Tap Remove from [PLAYLIST NAME].

Mobile site

1. Go to the Account tab  in the YouTube app.
2. Select the playlist that you'd like to edit.
3. Tap Menu  next to the content that you want to remove.
4. Tap Remove.
