Edit playlists

You can add or edit playlist titles and descriptions, reorder videos, or remove videos from a playlist.

Notes:

  • This feature may not be available with supervised experiences on YouTube.
  • There's a limit to how many public playlists a channel can create each day across YouTube Music, YouTube main app, and the YouTube API. You can increase your daily limit by gaining access to advanced features. Learn more.

Add a playlist description

  1. From your computer, select a playlist from your Guide .
  2. Click Edit and then Add a description and enter details about your playlist.
  3. To save, click off the edit box.

Edit a playlist title or description

  1. From your computer, select a playlist from your Guide .
  2. Click Edit , then click your playlist title or description and edit it as needed.
  3. Click Done.

Reorder content in a playlist

  1. Select one of your playlists.
  2. Click and hold  near the Short or video’s thumbnail.
  3. Drag the video or Short up or down to reorder the playlist.

Filter your playlist by video type

  1. Select the playlist that you’d like to edit in the Guide.
  2. Choose the chip with the type of content that you want to view in your playlist:
    1. All: Displays all content saved to the playlist.
    2. Shorts: Displays Shorts saved to the playlist.
    3. Videos: Displays long-form videos saved to the playlist.

Remove content from a playlist

  1. Open a playlist.
  2. Click More  next to the video or Short you want to remove.
  3. Click Remove from [PLAYLIST NAME].
If you can't follow these instructions, you're likely using the old version of YouTube. If you're using a newer browser, update to the current version of YouTube.
