Rentals, purchases & paid subscriptions on Chromecast

Chromecast is an easy way to watch YouTube rentals, purchases, and paid subscriptions on your TV.

Movies and TV shows

  1. Open the YouTube app. 
  2. Tap the video you'd like to watch.
  3. To send it to your TV, tap Cast .

Live events

  1. Open the YouTube app.
  2. Go to the channel page that’s hosting the live event. 
  3. During a live event, you'll see the current event featured at the top of the 'Uploads' section. 
  4. To send it to your TV, tap Cast .
Paid channels

Follow these steps to Cast videos from a YouTube paid channel to your TV:

  1. Find a video you'd like to watch and press the Cast button. On the YouTube app, the Cast button will be in the top right-hand corner. From on your computer, it's in the bottom right of the player.
  2. Select your Chromecast from the dropdown menu and wait for the video to start playing on your TV.
