To watch YouTube on your smartphone or tablet, download the YouTube app. The YouTube app is available on many different devices, including mobile phones, smart TVs and media streaming devices.  Learn more about where to watch YouTube.

How to sign in to YouTube on your TV

You can download the YouTube app from Google Play.

Note: The app will only work on phones or tablets running Android version 6.0 and above. 

YouTube on newer smart TVs and media devices

The latest version of the YouTube app is available on 2013 and later device models, and some 2012 device models.

YouTube on Android TV

If you have a device running Android TV, the YouTube app will be available in your apps list by default.

YouTube app version 1.0 for Android TV is no longer supported.

YouTube on Apple TV

If you own a fourth-generation Apple TV or newer, the YouTube app will be available to install from the App Store.

Note: Third-generation and older Apple TVs no longer have a supported YouTube app. If you're using one of these devices, you can use AirPlay on the device to stream YouTube.

YouTube on game consoles

You can download YouTube from many game console stores, like Nintendo, PlayStation or Xbox.

1. Go to your game console shop and search for YouTube.
2. Select Download.
