Change playlist privacy setting

If you're the owner of a playlist, you can make your playlist public, private or unlisted. Privacy settings for playlists that you've created and ones that you've saved may differ.

Change privacy for playlists that you've created

Note: If you're in YouTube Studio beta, select Creator Studio Classic in the left-hand menu to follow these steps.
  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Go to Creator Studio Classic. 
  3. In the left-hand menu, click Video Manager and then Playlists.
  4. Next to the playlist that you want to update, click Edit. This action will take you to the individual playlist that you'd like to manage.
  5. Next to your channel name, click Edit .
  6. Click Playlist settings.
  7. In the Playlist privacy menu, choose the playlist privacy setting.  
  8. Click Save.

You can also:

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Go to your Library.
  3. Select individual playlists.

Change privacy for playlists that you've saved

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. In the top right-hand corner, click your profile picture  .
  3. Click Settings .
  4. In the left-hand menu, select Privacy.
  5. Under 'Keep all my saved playlists private', tick or untick the box.
  6. Click Save.

Privacy settings

  • Anyone can watch and share Public videos and playlists.
  • Only you and those you choose can watch Private videos and playlists.
  • Anyone with the video link can watch and share Unlisted videos and playlists.
