Change playlist privacy setting

If you're the owner of a playlist, you can make your playlist public, private, or unlisted. Privacy settings for playlists you’ve created and ones you’ve saved may differ.

Change privacy for playlists you've created

Note: If you’re in YouTube Studio, click Creator Studio Classic in the left menu to follow these steps.
  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Go to Creator Studio Classic. 
  3. In the left menu, click Video Manager and then Playlists.
  4. Next to the playlist you want to update, click Edit. This action will take you to the individual playlist you’d like to manage.
  5. On the left, click the drop-down for "Private," "Public," or "Unlisted" and then choose another option.

You can also:

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Go to your Library.
  3. Select Individual Playlists.

Change privacy for playlists you’ve saved

  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. In the top right, click your profile picture  .
  3. Click Settings .
  4. In the left menu, select Privacy.
  5. Turn on "Keep all my saved playlists private."

Privacy settings

  • Anyone can watch and share Public videos and playlists.
  • Only you and those you choose can watch Private videos and playlists.
  • Anyone with the video link can watch and share Unlisted videos and playlists.
