Connect to your Aspera dropbox

These features are only available to partners using YouTube's Content Manager to manage their copyrighted content.

Once you’ve configured your dropbox, you need to create a reusable connection between your Aspera client and your dropbox.

Make sure you have the dropbox name and IP address on hand for easy reference; you can find this information under Uploader accounts in the Settings left-side menu.

To create an Aspera connection:

  1. Open your Aspera client.

  2. Click the Connections icon to open the Connection Manager.

  3. Click + to create a new connection.

  4. Enter the hostname for your dropbox provided by your partner representative into the Host text box. The hostname should be one of the following and match your geographic location:

    • us.aspera.googleusercontent.com

    • eu.aspera.googleusercontent.com

    • asia.aspera.googleusercontent.com

  5. Enter the dropbox name in the User text box. It should begin with "asp-"

  6. Select Public Key as the authentication option, then choose the key for this dropbox from the list of available keys.

  7. Click the Advanced button to display the Advanced Connection Settings.

  8. Change the value for SSH Port (TCP) to 33001.

  9. Click OK twice to save your changes and return to the main Aspera client screen.

Your new connection appears on the right side of the screen.
