Since these items are project files and not an actual video file, follow the instructions below to create a .mov video that will work on YouTube:
- In iMovie, select Share Export Using QuickTime
- In Finalcut Pro, select File Export Using Quicktime Conversion
- In QuickTime Pro, select File Export Export: Movie to QuickTime Movie
Next, you may want to check your Options to verify that the following settings are correct:
Video settings:
- Compression Type: H.264
- Frame Rate: 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, 60 FPS rates are preferred. Other less-common frame rates like 23.98, 29.97, and 59.94 are also acceptable.
- Data Rate: Automatic
- Key Frames: Automatic
- Frame Reordering: Unchecked
- Format: AAC-LC
- Bitrate: 128 kbps - 256 kbps
- Sample rate: 44100 or 48000
- Size: Choose the original size of the video
