Customised URL overview

A customised URL is an easy-to-remember channel URL that you can share with your audience. Customised URLs are based on your channel name and display as youtube.com/yourcustomname or youtube.com/c/yourcustomname.

Note: You can remove and set up a new customised URL for your channel up to three times per year. If you move your YouTube channel to another account, you need to remove your customised URL from your account, then set up a customised URL on your new account after 72 hours.

Customised URL eligibility

To create a customised URL for your channel, your account needs to:

  • Have 100 or more subscribers.
  • Be at least 30 days old.
  • Have an uploaded profile picture.
  • Have an uploaded banner image.

Note: YouTube reserves the right to change, reclaim or remove customised URLs at any time. For example, we may reclaim a customised URL that was associated with a deleted Google Account.

Find your custom URL

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left-hand Menu, select Customisation and then Basic info.
  3. Under custom URL, you can view and copy your custom URL.

Set up a customised URL

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left-hand menu, select Customisation and then Basic info.
  3. Under channel URL, click Set a customised URL for your channel
  4. You can choose the suggested customised URL based on your channel name or add extra letters or numbers to make your customised URL unique. 
  5. Click PUBLISH, then click CONFIRM to confirm your customised URL.

Remove customised URL

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left-hand menu, select Customisation and then Basic info.
  3. Under your current customised URL, click DELETE
  4. Under About, click your customised URL. 
  5. Click Remove, then click Remove again to confirm that you want to delete your URL. It may take a few days for the previous URL to deactivate.
