Manage your YouTube channel’s profile

You can manage profile about your YouTube channel such as channel name and description, translations, and links.

Name

You can change your YouTube channel name, just make sure it follows our Community Guidelines. After changing your name, it may take a few days for the new name to update and display across YouTube. If you change your YouTube channel name and picture, it will only be visible on YouTube. You can change your Google Account name and picture here (with no changes made to your YouTube channel name).

Note: You can change your channel name twice within a 14-day period. Changing your name will remove your verification badge. Learn more.
  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Customization  and then Profile.
  3. Enter your new channel name.
  4. Click PUBLISH.

Handle

handle is a unique identifier that makes it easier for you to establish and maintain your distinct presence on YouTube.

Note: You can change your handle twice within a 14-day period.
  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left Menu, select Customization  and then Profile.
  3. Under Handle, you can view or change your handle.
  4. If you change your handle, click PUBLISH to confirm it.

Description

You can change your YouTube description, just make sure it follows our Community Guidelines. Your description is accessible in the channel header.
  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Customization  and then Profile.
  3. Enter your new channel description.
  4. Click PUBLISH.

Add or change your pronouns

You can add your pronouns to your channel so that they are displayed on your channel page. You can choose whether to display your pronouns to everyone or only show them to your subscribers.
Pronouns are a critical part of personal identity and expression. Some jurisdictions have laws related to gender expression. Keep your local laws in mind when using this opt-in public feature on YouTube.
If pronouns are not available on your channel page, we’re working to expand this feature to more countries/regions and languages.
Note: The pronouns feature is not available for workspace or supervised accounts.
  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Customization  and then Profile and then ADD PRONOUNS .
  3. Begin entering your pronouns and select the ones relevant to you. You can add up to four pronouns.
    1. You can edit your selections by clicking  next to one of your pronouns to remove it.
  4. Select who can view your pronouns:
    1. Visible to everyone, OR
    2. Visible to only my subscribers
  5. Click PUBLISH.

Translation for channel name & description

You can add translations for your channel name and description to help your videos reach a global audience.
  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Customization and then Profile and then ADD LANGUAGE.
  3. Select the Original language, then select the Translation language.
  4. Enter the translations for your channel name and description.
  5. Click DONE.

Channel URL

Your channel URL is the standard URL that YouTube channels use. It uses your unique channel ID, which is the numbers and letters at the end of the URL.
Channel profile links
You can showcase up to 14 links on your channel Home tab, just make sure they follow our external links policy. Your first link will be prominently displayed in the profile section near the subscribe button, and your remaining links will show when your audience clicks to see more links.   1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Customization  and then Profile.
  3. Under Links, click Add link and enter the title and URL of your site.
  4. Click PUBLISH.
Contact info
You can add contact info to your channel to let others know how to get in touch with you for business questions.
  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Customization  and then Profile.
  3. Under Contact info, enter your email.
  4. Click PUBLISH.
