Create and manage your custom feed on YouTube Home

You can create a customised feed on your YouTube Home tab to find videos for a particular vibe, routine or interest. This feature allows you to jump into videos that you might commonly revisit, such as 'Morning yoga', without searching for it each time.

Important: This experimental feature is currently available in English in the United States. Availability may change in the future.

To find and use this feature, you must:

Create your custom feed

You can build a dedicated space for a specific topic that remains anchored to your Home screen.

Note: Your custom feed is private and unique to your account. Other viewers cannot find or access your custom feed.
  1. Sign in to YouTube.
  2. Go to the Home tab.
  3. At the top of the screen, select Your custom feed from the options.
  4. Enter a prompt that describes the type of feed that you want to create, or select one of the suggested prompt buttons.
    • For example, you can type in 'Help me unwind after work with guided meditations under 10 minutes'.
  5. Select Enter to create your feed.

Edit your custom feed

You can maintain one custom feed at a time. To change the 'vibe' of your feed, you can update your prompt at any time.

Note: Custom feed prompts expire after 30 days of inactivity. Once a prompt has expired, that custom feed will no longer be available and you can enter a new prompt to create a new custom feed.
  1. Select the Your custom feed option at the top of your Home feed.
  2. Tap the text box at the top of the custom feed.
  3. Enter a new prompt to change the content.

You can return to your standard YouTube experience at any time by selecting the Home option from the top of your Home feed.

Submit feedback

If the custom feed does not accurately interpret your request, you can share feedback to help improve the tool.

  1. Tap the three-dot menu next to the prompt box.
  2. Select Something wrong?

Frequently asked questions

How will this impact my recommendations?

Videos that you watch from this feed are added to your standard watch history. These watches may influence your main Home recommendations.

What happens when I refresh my custom feed?

When you refresh your custom feed, YouTube will generate new recommendations based on your prompt. Some videos may stay the same, while others will change. This process is similar to refreshing your standard Home feed.

How are videos watched from a custom feed monetised?

This feature behaves like the Home feed. If a viewer discovers and watches a video through their custom feed, it contributes to the creator's watch time and monetisation as usual.

We are continuing to closely monitor the feature's impact on views, watch time and revenue. If you have feedback or concerns to share, we encourage you to do so by selecting the three-dot menu next to the prompt and selecting Something wrong? Our teams use this information to make improvements for the creator and viewer experience on YouTube.
