Understand notice icons
Notices show all alerts related to copyright, ad suitability, and other policy areas so you can see exactly what is affecting your content.
If the Notices column shows a dash, your content has no current restrictions.
| Icon | What it means | Notices you might see (Including but not limited to) |
|
This is an informational notice. This notice does not result in any immediate limitations. |
|
|
|
This represents a partial limitation. There may be limitations on your content’s reach, ways to earn, or feature access. |
|
|
|
This represents a complete limitation. Your content is blocked, removed, or otherwise ineligible to earn revenue. This may happen due to a copyright strike or a full takedown. |
|
|
|
This means that our system checks are still running. We recommend waiting for checks to complete before making a video public. |

Understand different policy categories
You can find examples of policies that may be applied to your video below. To identify and manage notices on your content, follow these steps.
| Policy category | What it means | What you might see (Including but not limited to) |
| Copyright | Your video likely contains copyright-protected content, and could get a Content ID claim or be removed due to a copyright removal request. |
|
| Terms and policies | Your video or post may have issues including but not limited to:
|
|
| Age-restrictions | Your video isn’t appropriate for viewers under 18 and may be considered age-restricted content. |
|
| Made for kids | Your content was set or identified as made for kids, so we’ve restricted certain features to comply with applicable laws. |
|
| Ad suitability | You’re in the YouTube Partner Program and ad suitability restrictions have been applied. |

Understand how notices may impact your content & monetization
Notices may indicate that there’s an impact to your content’s reach, ways to earn, and feature access. Hover over a status in the Notices column to get an Impact summary for more details.
Reach
Reach refers to what type and size of audience your content is reaching. Some examples of impacts on your content’s “reach” include:
- Regional limitations: Notices like "Partially blocked" means your content is hidden from viewers in certain regions often due to copyright claims.
- Age restrictions: If content is age-restricted to 18+, it is not viewable by signed-out users or those under 18 years of age.
Ways to earn
"Ways to earn" refers to which revenue streams, such as ads, YouTube Premium, YouTube Shopping or Supers, your content is able to monetize with.
Some examples of impacts on your content’s “ways to earn” include:
- Restrictions on specific revenue streams: Certain restrictions may impact revenue streams differently. For example, a video may still be eligible to earn ad revenue while "Shopping" features are disabled.
- Revenue sharing: A "Sharing ad earnings" notice means your content is splitting revenue with a copyright owner rather than being made ineligible to earn.
- Escrow hold: If you dispute a copyright claim, your "Ad earnings in escrow" status means that potential earnings are being held in escrow while the claim is reviewed.
Feature access
Feature access refers to the features available on your content. Some examples of impacts to feature access include:
- Restrictions on specific features: Some policy violations may result in specific features being turned off, such as disabled comments, while other features are not affected.
- Interactivity restrictions: For videos with partial limitations, certain features like live chat or reminder notifications may be unavailable.
Track estimated revenue
If you’re in the YouTube Partner Program, the Estimated revenue column in Studio on your computer will show you how much each of your videos is earning across all revenue streams. This includes Ads, YouTube Premium, and YouTube Shopping.
- Revenue processing: It typically takes about 2 days for new revenue to be reflected in this column. If you just posted a video (up to 2 days ago), you'll find a
icon in this column.
- No revenue: A dash (—) icon means the content is not earning revenue.
Review visibility settings
Visibility shows the audience settings you have chosen for your video, for example:
- Public: Anyone can get and watch the video.
- Private: Only you and people you choose can watch the video.
- Unlisted: Anyone with the video link can watch the video.
- Members only: Only your channel members can watch the video.
