Important: This feature is only available in certain countries at this time.
Hype is designed for up-and-coming creators in the YouTube Partner Programme with 500–500,000 subscribers. If you no longer have access to hype, your subscriber count has grown beyond this range or your channel is no longer in the YPP.
Your viewers can hype your videos to show their excitement for your content and help your channel get discovered by new audiences. Learn how to manage your hyped videos.
How does hyping a video work?
1. Upload a video
For the first seven days after you've published a video, viewers will see the option to hype. When a video is hyped, points are immediately applied to the video.
2. Empower your fans
With Hype, viewers can rally around your latest upload and let everyone know that it's worth watching. Videos with the most hype points each week appear on a country-specific leaderboard that's ranked by top hyped videos from the viewers in that country.
3. Watch fans help grow your channel
Along with the top hyped videos being featured on the leaderboard, you may also see them highlighted across YouTube with a special 'hyped' badge for the first seven days. After fans have hyped one of your videos, they can make a public post to their Posts and Community tabs (if enabled). Publicly sharing a post about their hype can help your fans to pass the spotlight to your channel and help you to be discovered by new audiences. Your viewers can hype a limited number of times at no cost for a specific video that has been published in the past seven days.
Managing hype settings
Hype is currently enabled by default for eligible creators. You can opt out of the feature directly from the YouTube Studio mobile app, in addition to the desktop setting. To learn more about how to disable hype for your channel, see Manage your hyped videos.

Additional information
We are gradually rolling out the option to hype a video. As we are developing the functionality, we want the option to hype a video to support content that is appropriate for all audiences. Accordingly, we reserve the right to revise our policies as necessary, and to remove the option to hype from channels and remove content that violates our policies from the leaderboard.
