Your data and using AI features on YouTube

Your use of YouTube AI features, specifically Dream Screen, Dream Track in YouTube Shorts, Posts, or AI Stickers (“YouTube AI Feature(s)”) must comply with YouTube’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and shouldn’t violate the copyrights or privacy rights of others. Feature availability may vary by country and language.

You’re responsible for the content that you interact with, create, and publish. If the content you interact with, create, and publish violates Community Guidelines, it will be removed and you may get a strike. Don’t include confidential or personal information when creating content or interacting with YouTube AI Features and don’t rely on the feature for medical, financial, or legal advice.

YouTube AI Features Privacy Notice

This privacy notice and Google’s Privacy Policy describe how Google handles your data when you interact with, create, and publish content on YouTube AI Features.

In the European Economic Area and Switzerland, YouTube AI Features are provided by Google Ireland Limited. YouTube AI Features are provided by Google LLC everywhere else. We refer to Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC below as Google.

What data is collected and how it’s used

Google may collect YouTube AI Feature prompts, outputs, what you share with YouTube AI Features (like images and videos), related content, and your feedback to provide, improve, and develop Google’s products and services and machine-learning technologies.

You can review and delete past prompts, outputs, or related content in My Activity. Where content is unable to be managed through My Activity, such content is handled in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy and is deleted in up to 60 days.

YouTube AI Feature Activity is on by default. YouTube stores YouTube AI Feature prompts, outputs, and related content with your YouTube Account for up to 18 months. Prompts and outputs that aren’t connected to your Google Account are stored for up to 3 years.

Please note that, for all YouTube AI Feature prompts, outputs, and related content collected by Google prior to May 8, 2025, such data connected with your Google account will be saved for up to 60 days. Outputs that are not connected to your Google Account will be stored for up to 1 year.

How human reviewers improve Google AI

To help with quality and improve our products (such as machine-learning models that power YouTube AI Features), human reviewers (including third parties) read, annotate, and process prompts, outputs, and related content for quality control and product improvement. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. These steps include disconnecting prompts and outputs from your Google Account before reviewers see them. Nevertheless, please don’t enter confidential information (or other data you wouldn’t want a reviewer to see) in prompts.

Configuring your settings

Visit your Google Account to access settings and tools that let you safeguard your data and protect your privacy.

When you delete a prompt, output or related content from your YouTube AI Feature activity, such data will be saved with your account for up to 30 days. This lets Google provide the service and process any feedback. After deletion, this activity won’t appear in your My Activity page.

How YouTube AI Feature Activity works with other services and settings

If you delete your YouTube AI Feature Activity, other Google data settings won’t change. Those settings, like YouTube History, Web & App Activity, or Location History, may keep saving location and other data as you use other Google services depending on how you have your settings configured.

Requesting content removal and exporting your information

You can request the removal of certain types of content under our policies or applicable laws. You can also export your information.
