Use Google Meet to watch YouTube videos with others

You can use Google Meet to watch YouTube videos with others through live sharing on Android devices. First, a YouTube Premium member will need to start a live sharing session. Once the sharing session is started, others can join the call without a Premium membership.

Note:

  • This is currently available on Android only.
  • You must be signed in to YouTube with your personal Google account.

Google Meet live sharing

To start a Google Meet live share:

  1. YouTube Premium member: First, sign in to your Google account.
  2. Once you’re in a Google Meet call, use the activities menu to jump to YouTube, or go to the YouTube app.
  3. Play a video. You’ll l be asked to confirm you want to watch with everyone on the call.
  4. In YouTube, tap Share to start a new call, and invite friends to watch with you.
